Holy Week Guide by Montserrat Messeguer

Guía de Semana Santa por Montserrat Messeguer
We're just a few steps away from enjoying a wonderful Easter holiday, and what better way to spend it than in Mexico's most beautiful cities: Mexico City, San Miguel de Allende, or Guadalajara. Here are our recommendations for each city, along with our designer Montserrat Messeguer's favorite spots and best-kept secrets.

CDMX

This week is the perfect opportunity to experience the city in all its splendor with the spring jacaranda trees. I recommend taking a walk through Chapultepec and having a picnic at the Canadian Totem Pole. Try some sugar-free and dairy-free ice cream from Nieve de Olla. My favorite flavor is Cherry Garcia, and I love that everything is zero waste because you can literally eat the spoonful—it's healthy and Mexican. Taking advantage of the less traffic, I would go to the Anahuacalli Museum in southern Mexico City, then eat at Tetetlán or have breakfast there and then go to the museum.

For a fancy , old-school Mexican moment, I'd go to the San Angel Inn. Don't forget to try the escamoles and the legendary margaritas. Along the same lines, breakfast at El Cardenal del MUNAL is a must , with its unreal conchas con crema and hot chocolate.

Guadalajara

Enjoy raw food at Panga del Impostor, a delicious Jalisco breakfast at YUNAITES, and visit any of Barragán's many works, from churches to homes. The Colomos Forest is also a great way to connect with nature in the city. Followed by a super-fun night starting with pre-drinks at De la O, dancing at Pare de Sufrir, and afterward at the iconic Bar Américas.

SMA

We just moved, so you shouldn't miss Bennu's pizzas, right in the house where we're located. I recommend ordering the marinara, and the desserts are unexpected and delicious. Unbelievable drinks and Peruvian snacks are available at Tuki, a lovely terrace speakeasy. Breakfast at the famous Lavanda Café or La Parroquia for their traditional eggs with refried beans. The vineyard experience is incredible, and I highly recommend San Lucas Vineyards.

And I honestly recommend disconnecting and strolling through the most beautiful city in the world.
