Montserrat Messeguer's relationship with its customers goes beyond making a purchase; we care about ensuring you are delighted with your products and informed about their care. By promoting timeless fashion, we wish your clothes and shoes a long life.

Through the experience of Juan and Luis (Victoria shoe repairer), shoe repair professionals, we learned the basic steps for maintaining your Jornada boots.

Step 1: CLEANING

To ensure the long-lasting and re-moisturizing of your cowboy boots' leather, the essential and accessible step to do at home is cleaning them.
The first thing to do is remove excess dust with a soft brush, and if the floor is very dirty, use a damp cloth to remove all the dirt. You'll need pumpkin soap, a paintbrush or soft brush, and a glass of water.
Add a little bit of water to the pumpkin soap. Remember that the thicker it is, the less water the leather absorbs (the better). Once the mixture is made, apply it to your boots using a brush in gentle circular motions. Then, rub them with a clean, damp cloth to remove excess soap and wait for them to air dry (using a heat source could damage your boots).
Pumpkin soap is an excellent natural cleaner, and it also provides hydration to your boots. You can do this every third day or once a week. Remember that the less you use your boots, the more maintenance they need.

Step 2: MOISTURIZING

Once the boots are clean, we proceed to moisturize them. To do this, we'll need leather conditioner or castor oil, a soft cloth, and a soft brush.
On a soft cloth, apply castor oil or some other leather conditioner. If you don't have specialized products, you can apply a little moisturizing body cream. Gently rub the boots, making sure to cover all areas. Wait a few minutes for the conditioner to absorb.
Finally, you can remove the excess with a clean, dry cloth and use it to lightly polish or brush.

Step 3: REPAIRING SCRATCHES AND SCRAPES

If your boots have scratches and scuffs, it's best to take them to an expert. A professional's eye is key to achieving a flawless repair, as they fill and refinish the leather. The key is to perfectly match the leather color tone and use the appropriate paints to cover scratches and scuffs.

Thanks to Victoria Shoe Repair for helping our customers keep their Jornada Boots looking like new!
