Montserrat Messeguer is a brand led by the Mexican designer of the same name, which pays homage to northern Mexico.
Founded in 2017, the brand gained early recognition for its innovative take on northern Mexico, a culture that influenced the American West. Through its leather garments, accessories, footwear, and iconic cowboy boots—crafted using the Goodyear Welt construction method—the brand has crossed borders and experienced significant growth.
Our Founder
Meet Montserrat Messeguer
Montserrat Messeguer was born in Mexico City in 1988, into a deeply creative family. She studied Textile Design and earned a master’s degree in Innovation Management from Universidad Iberoamericana. She continued her academic training at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York and later received the prestigious Pierre Cardin scholarship to study at the American Academy in Paris.
Image building has been a defining thread throughout her career. During her time in New York, she worked alongside Sarah Gore Reeves, then Fashion Director of Vogue México and Vogue Latin America, contributing to editorials featuring some of the fashion industry’s most celebrated models and photographers.
Her Own Brand
Upon returning to Mexico, she was named co-designer of her mother Lydia Lavín’s fashion brand. This became her final collaborative project before launching her own namesake label, Montserrat Messeguer, in 2017.
The brand was immediately recognized for its innovative take on Western aesthetics. Her iconic Jornada boots have reached customers around the world and are available through her three physical stores.

Handmade in northern Mexico
Her work draws inspiration from Northern Mexico—the birthplace of cowboy culture that later influenced Southwestern American style. Collaborating with Mexican artisans, Montserrat brings to life leather and denim garments, belts, hats, and her now-iconic cowboy boots, worn by international figures such as Dua Lipa, Florence Welch, and Emily Ratajkowski, to name a few.

Handcrafted workmanship
We collaborate with artisans of Tamaulipas leather, chiseling, and pitting. Northern crafts that are threatened with extinction.
Goodyear welt
Each boot is crafted in over 250 meticulous steps by a team of skilled craftsmen using Goodyear welt construction, ensuring durability, maintainability, and long-term performance.
Designed in Mexico City
Located in the heart of Mexico City's Roma neighborhood, just steps from the iconic Contramar restaurant, is our flagship store and offices. This is where we design all our products, inspect the quality of each piece, and share memorable experiences with our customers.
